Compatibility
Which trash cans does Lid Loc fit?
Lid Loc is designed to fit most standard 32–96 gallon wheeled curbside trash cans, including popular brands like Toter, Rubbermaid, and Suncast. It works with cans that have a flat or slightly curved lid with a standard hinge. Not sure if your can qualifies? Does it work with recycling or yard waste bins?
Yes — as long as the bin is a standard wheeled cart with a hinged lid, Lid Loc can be installed. It's not compatible with open-top bins or bins without a lid.
Installation
How long does installation take?
Most installs take under 3 minutes. No special skills required — if you can use a screwdriver, you can install Lid Loc.
What tools do I need?
Just a drill, hand-pliers and a Phillips-head screwdriver. Everything else — hardware, mounting template, and step-by-step instructions — is included in the kit.
Is the installation permanent?
Yes but you can easily remove it too if necessary. Lid Loc can be removed and reinstalled if you replace your trash can or move. The mounting holes are small and discreet.
Materials & Durability
What is Lid Loc made of?
Lid Loc is built from high-strength, UV-resistant polymer — tough enough to handle year-round outdoor exposure, from summer heat to winter freeze-thaw cycles.
What's the Marine Grade option?
The Marine Grade version uses a marine grade sheathing vs. nylon sheathing used more common in the boating industry. It's ideal for coastal environments, high-humidity climates, or anywhere salt air or moisture is a concern. It's the same great lock — just built to last even longer in harsh conditions.
Will it crack or fade over time?
Lid Loc is engineered for outdoor use. The UV-resistant material resists fading, and the design handles temperature extremes without warping or cracking under normal use.
Wildlife Protection
How does Lid Loc keep raccoons out?
Raccoons are clever — but Lid Loc is cleverer. The locking mechanism requires a two-step motion to open that raccoons, possums, and other widlife can't replicate. Once locked, the lid stays shut no matter how hard they push, pull, or pry.
Does it work against bears?
Lid Loc does not claim to make any bear guarantees but can deter them if they cannot easily open the lids, they might move on to the neighbors trash instead.
Will it slow me down on trash day?
Not at all. Lid Loc is designed for quick one-handed release so you can open your can fast — without giving wildlife a fighting chance.

How long does shipping take?
Orders typically ship within 1–2 business days. Standard delivery takes 3–7 business days depending on your location. Expedited options may be available at checkout.
Do you ship outside the US?
Currently we ship within the contiguous United States. Stay tuned — we're working on expanding to additional regions.
